How to clean make-up brushes and other tools!!
Sometimes I wonder, how often and how well women clean their make-up brushes and/or tools?
So I thought I would put together some instructions on how to keep your make-up brushes, tools and hair equipment clean. Also how regularly you need to clean them.

How to clean make-up brushes
Products used
-Antibacterial dishwashing liquid (cleans and disinfects)
-Extra virgin olive Oil (conditions)
-Plate/ Dish
Steps
1. Rinse the bristles of your brush, always with the water running down. You want to avoid running water directly into the base of the brush, which can cause the glue to weaken and shorten the lifespan of your brush.
2. Mix 1 tablespoon of oil with 2 tablespoons of antibacterial dishwashing liquid. You could also use baby shampoo.
Place your brush bristles into the mixture, lather on your hand, sweeping back and fourth.
Rinse and repeat until the water runs clear.
3. Reshape the bristles. However the bristles dry they will remain that way.
4. Lay brushes flat on a clean towel overnight.
5. It is recommended you follow these steps once a week; to keep the germs away from your make-up and off your skin. To be honest I do this after every client and after every time i use them on myself.
I also disinfect them with Isoporyl Alcohol.
6.Be sure to disinfect your brushes after every use, using a disinfectant spray such as, Isoporyl Alcohol.
It is also good to spray your make-up and the area you apply your make-up with Isoporyl Alcohol as it kills germs and bactria.

As you can see in these images you can also purchase a little plastic cleaner with ridges on it. These are great , they remove the product more easily and gives the brush a thorough clean.
I believe using one of these is better than using your hand.
How to Clean Hair Brushes and Combs
1. Remove all of the hair from the brush by using a comb or a toothpick and scrapping, through the bristles and drag out the hair.
2.Place brushes and combs in a dish or a bucket
3.Cover the brushes with hot water (not boiling hot)
4.Add 1 tablespoon of anitbacterial dishwashing liquid and 1 tablespoon of vinegar. The vinegar is used to kill any baceteria and germs.
5. Allow to sit for one hour or overnight.
6.Rinse each brush under running water to remove dirt build up and soap.
7.You could use old toothbrush to remove build up from in between the combs.
8. Shake excess water off and allow to dry on a towel
9. Wash dish/ bucket thoroughly
10. Repeat once a month or when you feel necessary.

2. Lather using a few drops of antibacterial dishwashing liquid, work any product out of the sponge with your fingers.

5.Make-up ponges should be cleaned after every use.
You can also give them a spray with Isopporyl alcohol before use.
