For so money years, I have put up with the struggle of my nail polish chipping in just a few short days after applying.This was really driving me crazy.
Some girls/women like to paint their nails and some don't, well I have always loved freshly painted nails. Although in my opinion and I'm sure most of you will agree; when you see someone with chipped nail polish and worn just about all the way off, it isn't very appealing.
I have tried so many diffrent brands of nail polish and not many really made much difference. Some did last a day or two longer or dried a couple of minutes quicker, but seriously who has the time and patience to give themselves a full manicure and pedicure every 2-3 max 4 days. Well I used to until I found and fell in love with Sensationail.
Of course you always have the option of going into a salon, but Im sure we all have better ways we could be spending our money. In each Sensationail bottle of gel polish, you have enough for 10 applications. Well so they say, however i find I get even more than 10 manicures from each bottle. If you went to the salon you would only get around 2 manicures for the same price.
I have had acrylic nails quite a few times and I have also had gel nails.
I always liked the gel nail polish better, as I have always had quite healthy long nails, so no need for extentending them. Also I beleive if you remove the gel polish correclty using acetone, (I will explain how to do this a little later on) you will do less damage to your nails rather than what the acrylic nails would.
This is what got my interest in looking further into gel polish and home LED LAMP's.
My concerns were if I purchase a home kit is the LED LAMP and gel polish, is it going to be as good as qaulity as the professionals use at the salons.
About 7 months ago I was in Priceline and decided to purchase my first Sensationail starter kit.
The cost was $80.
In the Sensationail starter kit I recieved...
1x Sensationail Pro 3060 LED LAMP
1x Nail file
12x Lint free wipes
1x wooden manicure/cuticle stick
1x 3.54ml Gel Primer
1x 14.6 ml bottle Sensationail Gel cleanser wich is really just Isopropyl Alcohol
1x 3.69ml Gel Base and top coat
1x 3.69ml Gel Raspberry wine rose framboise
For my manicure and pedicure I use a pair of cuticle scissors to cut my cuticles. I also apply Revitaoil cuticle treatment oil to my cuticles.
In my opinion Sensationail is a great product. They look great, I love the shine and how long they last.
This product is seriously just like having a manicure in the salon, but this is in the comfort of your own home. Also a lot more cost effective.
I am still continuing to use Sensationail gel polish and the LED LAMP
As all products it has it's pro's and con's and I will point a few for you. I will also give you step by step instructions how I do my manicure's and pedicure's, using the Sensationail gel starter kit at home.

Con's
- Really small bottles of polish; however like I said earlier you are most likely to get more applications than they have stated. Also 10 Manicures for $80 is good pricing compared to going to a salon and its around $30- 40 per manicure with gel polish.
-You have to buy removal kit seperately. Remeber this when you purchase your first Sensationail gel kit you will need to remove it at some stage.
-It can be a little time consuming. In my opinion the Sensationail gel starter kit is just like a professional kit, however the application outcome does come down to you.
To have a professional application you will need a steady hand or make sure you clean up any mess before setting the gel under the LED LAMP.
-You can't purchase the Sensationail gel base and top coat on it's own. This is really annoying as I find this is what I always run out of the most, then I have to purchase a essentials pack. This makes it more pricey as you are purchasing more than you need in a pack.

Application
1) Mix a hand lotion or a moisturizer with warm water in a container or bowl.
2) Soak hands for a couple of minutes
3) Dry off hands and then using the wooden manicure stick; push back your cuticles.
4) Using cuticle scissors trim your cuticles
5) File and lightly buff your nails
6)Using the lint free cloth, clean nails with gel cleanser.
7) Apply one layer of gel primer to nails and air dry
8) Apply a thin layer of gel base and top coat. Avoid skin and cuticle.
9) Cap the nail by running the polish brush along the tip. Cure for 30 seconds under the LED LAMP. (or one push of the button until the light automatically turns off)
10) Apply a thin layer of the color polish. avoid skinand cuticle. Cap the nail. Cure (set) under the LED LAMP for 60 seconds (2 pushes of the button) I recommend repeating this step and having 2-3 coats of the color polish.
11) Apply a thin layer of gel base and top coat. Avoid skinand cuticles. Cap nail under LED LAMP 2 minutes (4 pushes).
12) Finish by removing the moisture layer using the gel cleanser and lint free wipes.
Sensationail gel polish- Raspberry wine
Removal
1) Start buy roughing up your nails a little using a nail file
2) Using a cotton pad or ball, place some acetone on it.
3) Place the cotton pad/ball you applied acteonte onto and sit it on your nails
4) Then wrap the tin foil over the cotton/pad onto your fingers
5) Leave for a couple of minutes
6) Remove foil and cotton ball / pad's
7) Using the metal scrapper for removing gel polish. Gently scrape the polish off your nails. The polish should be quite softened and come off easily. If this is not happening for you and the polish is still hard, place more acetone onto a cotton pad and repeat steps 2,3,4 & 5.
8) Wipe over your nails using a lint free cloth and Isoporyl alcohol
9) Apply moisturizer to the hands and/ or cuticle treatment oil.
Tips
-Take care of your cuticles. Good to moisturize your cuticles regularly, using a hand and nail cream or as I do; apply a oil treatment.
- To help the gel polish or any nail polish last longer if you are cleaning or doing dishes etc, wear gloves to cover your nails and protect them.
-Instead of purchasing the gel cleanser buy a bottle of Isoporyl alcohol this will be more cost effective and you will get a lot more.
-Instead of purchasing a removal kit; buy a bottle of Acetone from your chemist and and tin foil from a supermarket.
- When you have applied your last coat of the gel base and top coat, put your nails under the LED LAMP up to 4 times. This will assure the gel polish is definately set and will last to it's full limit.
- When removing the gel polish, do not put to much pressure when scrapping it off. If you do you can scrape off some layers of your nail and this will damage them.
- When removing the gel polish make sure you do not allow much acetone to touch your skin as this will dry your skin and may cause cracking.
